The Futures Authority is an independent body with one job: to identify, credibly, the people genuinely shaping the future of their field, and to make them easy to find and reach. We do it through a permanent ranked index across futures, foresight, AI, innovation and leadership, and through a set of annual awards. To be named to the index is to be recognised as a Future Authority in your field.
We are based in London and work globally.
Matthew Griffin is the founder and chairman of The Futures Authority. A leading futurist and foresight advisor, he has spent his career helping boards, C-suites and governments across the Americas, Europe and Asia prepare for what is coming, from artificial intelligence and biotechnology to the long-range shifts reshaping whole industries. He is a professional keynote speaker and the author of the Codex of the Future series.
As chairman he sets the standard the index is held to and confers its rankings. He does not compete for them and does not appear in the index, because the person who confers the recognition cannot also receive it. He is based in London.
Credibility is the whole point, so the method is public.
An independent panel scores each nominee against clear, published criteria. No public vote to game.
Any judge connected to a nominee steps back from that decision. The conflict is removed.
Entry is open to anyone. No listing, placement or rank is ever for sale.
